Description
These rewaxing tiles are handmade by our owner from 100% Pure and Natural Grade A Apiary USA Beeswax sourced from various local small farms across New Jersey (our home state!), New York, and Pennsylvania. They can simply be used as cute little bee-friendly decorations or are also a great solution for revamping old worn out beeswax food wraps! Use one small tile to rewax large wraps, chop it in half for smaller ones, or simply shave off some pieces for extra small wraps or more convenient rewaxing.
An extra ~1% of the profits for these tiles go to the NAPPC (North American Pollinator Protection Campaign) to help save the bees (on top of our own 10%+ annual donations)! They each feature a single small recycled & recyclable removable sticker label on the bottom.
Directions:
With an Iron: To rewax your beeswrap wrap, simply lay your clean dry wrap out on a safe heat-safe surface, place the beeswax on top, and cover with a piece of parchment paper. Then you can carefully use a hot iron to melt and spread the wax around the wrap, being careful not to get any wax on the iron or your surroundings, until it is melted into a thin even layer.
In the Oven: Place your wrap on an oven tray and generously shave pieces of beeswax over your wrap until it has an even layer, then place in the oven on low heat (around 300F). Keep an eye on your wrap(s) and remove from the oven when the wax has melted and dispersed evenly- it should not take long, just 1-3 minutes or so.
Caution: Please make sure to remove the sticker labels before exposing to heat. They should peel off easily, or simply scrape whatever is left off with your fingernail.
