Description

These eco sponges are a great sustainable swap for your kitchen. The sponges feel and function like traditional sponges but are completely plant-based, plastic-free and compostable. The white side is made of wood pulp and is very spongey while the yellow-brown side is made of natural loofah and a bit rougher to help soap become sudsy and get off those tough grease stains. Its versatility and durability is great for washing and scrubbing all sorts of surfaces, even outside the kitchen. The softer side is suitable for cleaning low maintenance items such as utensils, bowls, plates, walls, or windows while the abrasive side is good for scrubbing stubborn dirt and cleaning sinks, baths, or pots and pans without the scratches. It is also fast-drying so it will not leave a bad smell in the kitchen. Natural loofah has been used by different cultures for centuries before plastic was mass-produced and can be a great alternative for the typical plastic sponges used in dishwashing and general household cleaning. These eco sponges are 100% compostable and biodegradable.

Directions: Soak the sponge in water to watch it expand for a few minutes before use (especially first use), then use as a regular normal sponge.

Care Tips: Air dry completely between uses. Avoid soaking in water for extended periods to reduce bacteria or mold buildup, and boil in water to kill bacteria. Keep away from high heat or flames.

Disposal: Cut in small pieces, then place in the green bin to compost or directly compost in the backyard. The loofah can also be used like coconut fibre in the garden as it is excellent at water retention, growing seedlings, creating a potting mix, for pest resistance, and can be used as bedding in worm bins.
